Hence when we see films it gives us an overview of how we actually think and feel at a specific moment and we start living that emotion while watching it , giving us immense pleasure. Hence it becomes important for filmmakers to get that emotion out of their viewers which they keep suppressing due to different society pressures. Hence using emotional intelligence becomes the key for a successful filmmaker as it comprises of 5 imp characteristics i.e. self awareness, empathy,motivation,self regulation and social skills. Read any management book, you will find that we are emotional beings. All our decisions are deep inside driven by emotions and justified by logic. The films are no different. If you want to touch a chord deep inside and really connect with the person, emotional is the only way to go.

Film production process requires understanding what our publics or audience require to experience, feel and enjoy. Better the experience, more overwhelmed they feel and if the audience enjoyment surpass a certain level of expectations then it is going to be a definite grand success. Now a days the expectations are more, grown, varied and expanded. The film fraternity has to understand that they have to address simultaneously several key components in any story. If someone wants to understand the success of future films then it has to be made either as super speciality hospital, a shopping multiplex or deliver the audience something that day never expected earlier.

In pre-production, once you've investigated your audience, you'll be able to share your film's themes from an emotionally intelligent perspective via social media messaging and other marketing activities. Once you know your audience, you'll be able to continue your storytelling to engage your audience in your screenings, events, entry to festivals, panel discussions and so on. When I produce film festivals, I communicate with filmmakers, advising them of the importance of emotionally intelligent storytelling as part of their marketing activities.

Understanding your audience is key. Step one, know who you are talking to. Then ask these questions: Is there a specific segment that you are targeting? What problems do they face? What are the emotions they go through? How can your film help them? How can you make them feel things when they watch your film? What do you want your audience to feel when they walk out after watching your film? What do you want them to talk about when they talk about your film?

Create an environment where emotions are acknowledged and respected. Encourage open communication and active listening. Empower your team to express their ideas and feelings. When people feel emotionally safe and valued, they contribute more authentically, enhancing the creative process.
