In my experience with being in social work looking for new path traditionally does not work. It doesn’t matter how many degrees, courses, certifications I have, people put social workers in a box. They tell us to go work for a nonprofit, become a life coach, open our own, case management, get the license to become a therapist. And even in ALL that, they still want you to be at the slowest. However, we can tap into different industries, learn language and seek help from people. As a social worker we must seek assistance and know the language and how to leverage ourselves in order to get where we need to be.

Despite all of this, they still want you to be the slowest. However, we may enter alternative businesses, learn a new language, and seek assistance from others. As social workers, we must seek support, understand the language, and leverage ourselves to go where we need to go.

In my experience, look for places that you wouldn’t think. Let go of the traditional. We have expectations that people know and understand social work and they just don’t. Learn culture, language and find opportunities that are not the typical social work type of work that has been in engraved in us.
