How can you compete in a saturated sales market?

The value proposition is simple. Be present to your customers. Chose them. And if you do, they will choose you. Here is what I mean. Number one, show up. Show up when you have something to offer. Show up when you have nothing to offer. Show up when things are noisy. Show up when things are quiet. Show up. Build trust. No difference in sales than in personal relationships. Be in the game for the marathon, not the sprint. Consider your customer from the perspective of LTV. Lifetime value. Just like any great relationship, be in it for the ups and downs. That is your value.

Do you know who your target customer is? What would be their common characteristics? It is important to segment the market, target the suitable segment, and position your product correctly. You can then identify the appropriate marketing mix for the segment that you have chosen to target. Through this, you can also develop a target persona or ideal customer profile and tailor your marketing efforts according to the characteristics identified.

Your existing customer base is an important asset that you need to continue to grow and cultivate. It will likely cost more for you to acquire a new sale as compared to getting a repeat sale from an existing customer. Thus, always look to increase the customer lifetime value by first ensuring you are serving the right segment of the market and the right target audience, based on the solutions of the product that you are providing. Build a strong relationship with the customers with immaculate service. Thus, increasing the chances that they not only buy from you again but become your advocate and tell others about your services and products. Start with your base today. I think the most important thing to consider is your own credibility as a sales person. In a saturated market, the only way to grow is to grow your own self on the values you want to be known for as a professional. With my experience as a sales person in some very tough markets, I have realized that the one thing that became my competitive advantage was the credible, genuine relationships I built, helping customers value my inputs, and being authentic in every interaction. Remember, customers dont choose products, they choose people!

One major drawback of "training" or learning in general is the lack of #creativity... In a tough situation like sales saturation, regrouping the essentials isn't the solution! This can be achieved by solving customer's problems even when the problem are out of the business process.
