How can you conduct interviews with incarcerated individuals?

Flexible timings of Interviews, Preferably on their week offs. 2. Assurance, that an agreement is just a mutual terms jotted on paper and you are equally empowered to feel otherwise as the organization will breach it if they see you as an "unfit". 3. Inculcating the confidence that if the interview stands scored the new organisation will take care of the legal hassles if any(Which will not be the case in many :) )

Knowing the rules is essential. Understanding the policy and procedures that underpins legislation is paramount. There will be times that you will be challenged and in your decision making, this all comes back to knowing the rules.

An incarcerated person is already that: incarcerated. There is almost nothing worse than that. They're not under any formal duress to speak with you the state of the facilities of the treatment they get. So, build rapport with them. A good rapport can the the teaser you need to thaw the ice. Treat them well, and they'll give you what you need.

Employ top-notch confidentiality of the information that is being shared and only publicly publish what has been consented to by the parties involved.

Do your homework, research the background of the inmate that you maybe interviewing, reading their case management file, electronic data base and speak to other corrections staff that are managing him/her.

In many cases the incarcered individuals have a traumatic lifespan, in such cases the first trauma could been happened in the childhood from a intimate person. It is necessary to have a knowledge of trauma and his features befor to talk with there people expecially when a journalist wants to interview them.
