I think feedback is a must in any learning situation. It gives an opportunity for improvement. Too much of positive feedback does not mean "all is well". It might hinder growth and productivity. Therefore, a balance of the two feedback is essential for growth and development.

Think about the cultural perspective. The content exposed to someone of the same age group from a different culture might not be age-appropriate. For example sex education with exposure to body parts in the west is provided which can be upsetting for a 10 year old from an eastern or a more conservative culture.
