Be flexible with when they can learn. Keep everything up-to-date and ask them what they think to make it even better. With a mix of stuff, easy to understand, and always improving, your training will hit the spot for your audience.

In my opinion first of all you should understand your audience, based on their skills and knowledge background the training portfolio should be made, which clearly defines the learning objectives. Moreover it should be a step by step approach towards the final objective involving various methods such as quiz, debates and hands-on practice activities, followed by proper feedback from the audience, which will help in continuous improvement of the training portfolio

So, knowing your audience, topics for consideration, upskilling for the trainer if any, preferred formats like classroom, virtual etc. The next step is to plan the outline and the content of the portfolio. In my stint as a trainer I liked to keep it simple and interactive. Nothing like long rambling sessions to put your audience to sleep. The trainer also needs to practice and know the content well, or provide guidance to where the participants can find information. Once the training sessions are rolled out, it is important to get feedback and tweak content for future sessions if necessary. Make sure that each participant owns their own learning.

Selecting your content with the right intent and purpose is key. I often review how my team will perceive the content and tailor to how they learn best. I would say in this day and age, you can't get by anymore with a physical portfolio. Sure, it's a nice to have when you meet your prospect in person. But my guess is, that you're not even invited to the table anymore before the prospect has seen your portfolio online. So I would state that it's a must to have a digital portfolio.

My experience is that formats that are reading only are not effective enough to capture the audience's attention. Combining it with video will make it more likely to be consumed. Consider not calling your supplements "PDFs" but instead call them "workbooks" which suggest more follow along than read-only. Also, forget about "professional design" at the beginning. Done is better than perfect! Get your portfolio out there now then perfect it in the future after some feedback on it. If you don't look back and cringe a little at your first portfolio presentation, then you've put it out there too late!
