In the CultureBrained Community, we regularly update our ideal member persona based on the existing members who engage most actively, live our values, and get the most benefit from participating in and engaging with our community. The last part is super important because we want to serve best the people who need us most. We also run a quarterly survey to keep our hand on the pulse of the community and understand what they want to see more and less of. Keeping an eye on the analytics helps a great deal, too. Often, data tells a slightly different story than the feedback you get from people - it's important to listen to both, in my experience.

Bring them out of social media. Funny but true. Until what you see on socials emotionally connects with you, more often than not it will be questioned and disbelieved. The best way to is to build connections through real stories that solves problems, not of the famous ones but of few that impacts all the regulars. Because people relate with people. H2H. More than numbers, infographics, polls, surveys and creative posts.

Open-ended questions are a great starting point for great conversations, but true community will be built by keeping those conversations moving and on-track. Les profils sans réel branding personnel ne permettent pas de dégager de telles interactions. C’est pour cela qu’il faut notamment familiariser les jeunes à ne pas avoir un profil complètement passif leur servant uniquement de vitrine pour les recherches de stages ou d’alternances. Sortir de leur zone de confort et contribuer à partager ou donner leurs avis sur tel ou tel sujet les fera tisser des liens professionnels précieux et bien en amont. However, I disagree with those who have the mindset that you should not share everything you know, there is nothing wrong with sharing everything you know. You can only manage the community environment. - Give as much freedom as it does not go against community values and mission, but also establish clear rules and focus on principles. - Like in martial arts use the power of your "enemy" and build on feedback given by the community. Be flexible. Choose what is essential to develop and what needs to be stopped or managed. - You cannot make an evaluation just once a year. SurveyMonkey to the rescue! I won't get tired of praising the value of customer testimonials, but something as simple as asking their opinion about your posts can already be useful. Social media provides multiple tools to monitor the success of our communications but unless you have a large amount of followers, it is sometimes hard to draw conclusions from what mostly is quantitative data (I am thinking humble clicks, likes and impressions). This is why I really appreciate the extra information we can gather with SurveyMonkey questionnaires, which not only allows us to assess the response to our content, but fine-tune new trends and key topics we may have missed. But as any statistician will tell you, sample size is key!
