How can you develop leadership skills in individuals without prior experience?

In my perspective, I make people understand mistakes in their own experience when they start out their professional career. That is because someone who has the willpower to overcome their mistakes and make them right in the next place is always going to be a great leader, so eventually testing their own fortune is a great way to improve themselves. That’s how one can identify their own weaknesses and make things happen right in the next place. Life is to make mistakes and take out experiences from them. It’s our greatest willpower to overcome and lead as an example to the people.

In my role as a Youth Leadership Trainer, I've found that making it personal and engaging is key. When assessing skills, incorporate activities like group discussions and role-playing, making it relatable to their experiences. Example, if I notice someone excelling in teamwork, I highlight and discuss how we can build on it. Together, we set goals for improving specific leadership aspects, like decision-making or communication. I involve them in real community initiatives to apply these skills practically, providing hands-on experience. I make sure to celebrate their small wins, it boosts confidence and motivation in their leadership. It's all about making leadership development a personalized and rewarding experience for each individual.

Drawing from my experience, I've found that the most effective way to cultivate leadership skills is through "dirtying your hands". I regularly provide my team members with opportunities to lead by assigning challenging roles, delegating sudden tasks, and offering increased autonomy and responsibility. I encourage team members to actively seek leadership roles in diverse teams or youth networks. This not only expands their exposure but also allows them to navigate unacquainted situations, fostering adaptability, creativity, and problem-solving skills. It's not just about theoretical knowledge; it's about learning and growing through real-world challenging leadership roles. Leadership is only perfected in practice, practice and practice.

To develope an individual without prior learning you need to analyse their strength, abilities and see if they have a passion to learn.If they do give them training ,mentorship, guide them motivare them. Monitor and evaluate if they are Promotable. Give them positive feedback. Put him in a group and ask open ended question to allow him to interact with other participants, at the same time gain knowledge from their input.

In my experience, connecting individuals with mentors and role models has proven immensely impactful. By helping them find mentors, we create a valuable support system where guidance, advice, and shared experiences become catalysts for growth and LinkedIn is the best place for finding them. Introducing role models goes beyond inspiration; it provides examples of successful leadership qualities. Whether through online communities, events, or podcasts, these connections offer a rich source of motivation. Witnessing the qualities and behaviors of accomplished leaders firsthand fosters a deeper understanding and appreciation for effective leadership. It's about forging meaningful connections that inspire and guide individuals on this journey.

There are always days where we get stuck at things and wait till we find a solution to the situation. But that is where everyone is going wrong. Learn from people and learn from the right people - these two thoughts can help you make things have a better outcome. Always seek out the right person when your solution is met. And being doubtful at times is human nature, but yet you get some clarity that was missing previously, so take out that clarity and make things in the righteous way that you ever wanted them to be.

I always say to my people around me, “Be a good listener and a good observer." Learning from people can never be as perfect as you think. Everyone has their own style and method that they handle. That’s why everyone has a different name and face. Just listen, observe how things work, and make things work better for you in your own style. Rather than making mistakes without identifying the way, learn how it actually works from people around you who embark on the floor and work it out your way, but keep pushing yourself hard until things are right.
