While all of the above is absolutely correct, I also learned that people on the whole have no idea about what a blown out sky is. Sometimes when developing your aesthetic, these things can happen and actually it looks incredible -in an artistic way- So while I believe that the photography rules offer a very good guide when starting out, I also believe that rules can be broken in certain circumstances. Digital Asset Managment is something that is not taught enough. The person that I learned from and that I think is probably one of the most preeminent individuals of Asset Management is Peter Krogh who put out a book titled: "The Dam Book: Digital Asset Management for Photographers" I think it is a must read for any photographer in any and all genre's. As for online management...it goes back to the fundamentals of DAM from Peter Krough. Becuase what platform is used is simply a matter of preference but if the fundamentals of asset management are done from the get go...you will have a solid system no matter what.

When sharing my images with clients and collaborators, I often use Pixieset for my online gallery platform sharing needs. It gives you the ability to choose your own creative visual from multiple options, gives the client options to create a favourite list, buy prints and download or share the gallery on to others. I personally don’t mind my clients sharing their images in this way, but it does come down to personal preference, some photographers may choose to have absolute control over this aspect and may even charge additional fees for this option. We transfer is another way of sharing files and images, however I will mostly opt for a gallery set up as I personally prefer this visual approach and aesthetic. Yvette x

Being able to create high-quality images is just one part of the job. All commercial photography projects involve working and collaborating with a team. Skill with the camera is critical but being flexible, adaptive, and communicating are equally important skills. With personal projects, you proceed as you choose. In group productions, your ego/pride can’t direct your behavior. Let the art director direct. Understand the objectives of the marketing team. Proceed cooperatively and respect the roles of all the people involved. Diva photographers make for good TV characters but poor collaborators. Communication from conceptualizing to delivery weighs as heavily as the quality of the photography produced.
