I think the most efficient way to guard against SQL Injection (SQLi) is by using prepared statements or parameterized queries in our code. This method separates user input from SQL commands, making it very hard for attackers to inject malicious SQL. It's also a proactive and highly effective measure, reducing the need for complex input checks. Regularly updating our software, employing a Web Application Firewall (WAF), and conducting security tests ensures us a comprehensive protection against SQLi and other threats.

No software is impenetrable. To keep yourself safe from hackers you have to install apps only from recommended sources. Even then there is a risk of data breach. It's the duty of the developers to follow secured protocols while writing the code.

Security Test in phases of SDLC, & types of tools A single tool is not the answer to identifying threats. A right security test in the phases of software dev is much needed. For e.g. A SAST tool or SCA (Static Code Analysis) would be needed to identify vulnerabilities in code during dev phase & multiple tools can assist with it. Similarly a DAST tool for Dynamic App test will be needed once the concent can be viewed or it is live. WAF is already present on CDN helping eliminate threats. With evolving web the threats are ever evolving as well with browser best practices as well as OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities being the standard practice. An open source tool like OWASP Zap could be kick start to gaining the knowledge on DAST.

Security is everyone's responsibility. Being in Testing/Quality group, one can watch the release notes and go through the cyber security Defect/Story/Task released. Understanding the security issue that has caused this release or fix can be added as a test case (API, client app, etc..) for future releases, NPIs, etc. This can reduce the cycle time as new security issues are caught in Engineering verification or QA rather than waiting for pen testing team to catch.
