People are difficult because of some reasons. As an HR i would like to understand the core reason, prior experiences, inhibitions etc. This knowledge will help me decide my first initial steps to build trust, share the concerns, work on the solutions together and finally bring break the stigmas and mental models to focus on the positivity of the so called difficult lot of people

How can you manage difficult personalities in the workplace?

Managing difficult personalities in the workplace can be a challenge for anyone, especially if you are a leader, a team member, or a client. You may encounter people who are rude, aggressive, passive-aggressive, defensive, or uncooperative. How can you deal with them effectively and professionally, without compromising your own goals, values, and well-being?

1 Identify the personality type

The first step is to recognize the personality type of the person you are dealing with, and understand their motivations, triggers, and communication styles. For example, some people may be rude because they are insecure, stressed, or frustrated. Some may be aggressive because they are ambitious, competitive, or assertive. Some may be passive-aggressive because they are resentful, fearful, or avoidant. Some may be defensive because they are sensitive, proud, or misunderstood. Some may be uncooperative because they are lazy, bored, or indifferent. By identifying the personality type, you can tailor your approach and response accordingly.

2 Choose your battles

The second step is to decide whether you need to confront, ignore, or compromise with the person. Not every situation requires a confrontation, and sometimes it may be better to let go of minor issues, or to avoid unnecessary conflicts. However, if the person is affecting your work performance, your relationship, or your reputation, you may need to address the issue directly and constructively. You may also need to compromise on some aspects, such as deadlines, expectations, or responsibilities, to reach a mutually beneficial solution.

I suppose you can mess with perfection but this piece is very good information. AI?? 😳 🤔 I suppose, in performance management circles, SCIENCE can provide "universally perfect" standard operating procedures to help excitable teammates. Consequently and soon, there should be no excuse regarding the possession of "perfect" knowledge. The problem will be human talent to execute the plan [for now]. May be moot if there are only a few people/personalities to manage. ...AI is really good. ...A "me" robot that can't get worn down managing conflict would be [scary] great.
