I believe that most important point is communication because logistics require end to end process for both side. Each chain is valuable but what makes is different if you’re not working directly with a liner i think choose a good forwarder who has a very good relationship with liners and has a considerable amount of allocation with them so you may never worried about lack capacity, transit time or other suprised extra surcharges.  Your plans should be clearly stated in your company and get a deal with liners or forwarders should be win-win for both side. Such as give a high volume and try to avoid at least quarterly surcharges.

It’s important to know all the above factors otherwise you may be taken for a ride as freight surcharges or exclusions can cost you much much more.
