test automation wil save you time only if it was plannd as part of the original delivery . Otherwise all you are doing is wasting even more time trying to understand how to automate the testing of a change you were not expecting and attempting to so within a timesclae which did not allow for this additional work. far better to test such chnages manaually as manual test are much quicker to write and execute first time around, whilst autmated only show a posituve ROI if run repetaedly across several builds

Once you understand your systems, automation should be your go-to in reducing risk and increasing coverage. When changes inevitably occur, you can quickly and easily adapt what you already have to accommodate the new priorities and if you have adopted a modular approach to your automation (you did do this didn't you?) then all you are doing is updating or creating the new bit only. If you make changes in your current sprint, I can adopt them and have them completed in my next sprint, no fuss, no bother, just forward planning and a modular approach. One caveat to this, you have to empower your testers to own the automation and not automation specialists. Automation Specialists are a support team, not a testing team.

Except that.... if you have everything automated, when requirements change, one needs to go update/change all the programmed automation.... so long as the overall net time saved from automation is positive, all is good....

Given that, we need to develop a habit with our team to actively integrate what we have learnt back into our process, and consciously develop new iterations of our solutions as we move forward. We can conduct a post-feedback discussion with our team to achieve this. • We can start a brainstorming session to generate ideas to integrate the feedback collected into our prototypes. • Finally, we will create our next prototypes. Keep iterating our prototypes by constantly testing thus integrating our findings, and eventually we will reach an optimal solution that addresses most of the key areas of our user needs.

Actually, the best approach is to be a trendsetter and always stay one step ahead of what people currently require, so you are not having to painfully adopt a new strategy, or software requirement whilst you are trying to do your current testing. Plan ahead, and if you think something is coming be an early adopter, and then you can control the narrative as you bring the new process into your organisation. Basic Adopt and adapt strategy, and what is really at the core of what agile really is, which is to have agility and flow where you need to improve before you are pushed in that direction. Be an active participant in your own growth, and not a reactor to being forced to grow.

The new upgrades , adjustments, process ,etc needs to be taken into consideration for testing process. The market is always evolving with new tools & technologies. Not everything can be grasped at one time but some of the techniques needs to be considered & change needs to be adapted. So in current market trend it would be beneficial to each & every individual throughout organisation. Change & trend should be followed & accumulated at each level of testing process.

Actually if the question is how to adapt as the testing requirements change efficiently (ordered a hamburger with onions but now want to swap with cheese after the order have been taken), then perhaps this can be done. Segment testing into smaller phases by functionalities (buns and meat are required components but other components can change). So critical paths analysis followed by prioritization of tasks. Also look for dependencies of time (adding cheese first on the meat is the norm not putting onions on the meat). This will tell when change/s can be executed innthe process ( This is dependent on grends analysis to validate such changes). Inform customers what and when certain types of changes can be made to reduce lag time in process.

Requirement changes happen. We preach Agile, so we need to be agile and be able to adapt and respond to change. When I’m testing APIs, I’m executing manually but then saving and building those test cases into regression packs as I go. They can then be automated more easily later on. When changes come in, those packs can be run to retest what I’ve already tested. I’ve found that it helps to try to keep my test data consistent (and widespread, one or two of everything) all the time. That way, if changes do happen, then the data is there to catch any issues next time a code change happens. As testers, we have to be able to handle change, otherwise, how would we handle retesting bugs?…. 🐛 🐜

Developers are urged to create and release change. Operations are urged to keep status quo and maintain operation stability. Both Innovation and Operational Excellence are critical for the business. The right balance and respect between both functions are paramount for the business overall’s success.

You do need to incorporate code freezes so that releases can be tested sufficiently and then released to market. It doesn't mean you don't stop innovating and improving. You do, but at some hard date, you stop incorporating changes, and you table them for a subsequent release. But you keep focused on making sure your current release is tested and solid before going live. Rinse and repeat with the next set of release requirements.
