How do you choose a coaching niche that aligns with your passion and skills?

Actually, I disagree with focusing primarily on strengths as a starting point for niching down. Strengths are important, but a growth mindset would encourage you to embrace areas that don’t appear to be strengths and work for proficiency. Coaching itself is a skill that requires consistent practice in order to improve. In other words, don’t psych yourself out!

I’ve helped dozens of clients pull from pit moments of life that they discovered how to break through. This leads to a an authentic one and only niche instead of trying to compete.

Ah, the golden question. What is your niche? Humans. For me it is humans. Is that shocking? You see, humans are my favorite. I love puppies but humans are capable of keeping notes in ways I appreciate a bit more. All jokes aside, it is the human condition that creates doubt, confusion, chaos, uncertainty, and hesitation based on the above. I love to help people organize their thoughts and set goals to achieve newly identified tasks and to-do lists. This can work for any human with any problem. Clarity, documentation, and action are my jam. Humans are my niche.

In my opinion, people are good at what they really love, and what they are passionate about. I honestly don't believe in talent, I believe in diligence and interest. I've never excelled at languages, but I love teaching, and in 10+ years I've never got bored of it, because I see constant room for improvement. One thing I find helpful is to explore your struggles and victories. Many of my clients find their niches in the same areas that they have overcome major life challenges. Many of us tend to gain satisfaction from helping others through familiar journeys that we can relate to on a personal level. What hard-fought accomplishments are you most proud of? In what areas do others trust your advice or perspective?

Passions are the things we do without being asked. The stuff that we think about when doing the things we wish we weren't doing. I believe there is a way to use your passions to make income and to make ripples happen for others. It is up to us to get the clarity, along or with the help of a coach, then help others whenever possible to do the same. There may not be a ton of "theme" to what you love but the baseline will always be your happiness is easily found there. Diversify all you'd like beyond that happy place.

Manchmal, und so war es bei mir, entsteht die Leidenschaft tatsächlich aus eigenem Leid. My potential clients are typically highly successful in their own right but are unsure of what the next steps may be. It might be a mother who has successfully sent her children to college and would like to return to the workforce, or maybe it is a teacher who would like to leave education for something new, it might have been a two-time elected official who needed help to define life after office, or a coach who had yet to monetize. It was all of the above and more. They wanted more from life and were not sure how to get there. In those moments, I am the #nextstepcoach to all. If it works, work it. If it does not then consider where your clients seek advice most.

With glitter and bubble and crayons and stuff? Maybe. If you are consistent in your messaging and deliver when its time, you can choose what you use to do so and how you do it too! The right clients will gravitate towards your best parts... showcase them with your unique talent and style. Do not steal a gimmick, a limerick, or a coaching concept. Be authentic and deliver what you promise. Your clients, paid of not, will tell us all we need to know about your abilities and validation will follow... or not. Be wise, be smart, be honest, be yourself.

My ideal client is a mirror image of, with values that match, my own. >>Willing to invest in myself >>Willing to do the work right now >>Wants what I bring; rather than someone who believes they ‘need’ what I have. As I became masterful my niche found me. I created a process to determine ideal client using the enneagram avatars allowing a back door reflection into values. I go for a few like me rather than spray and pray.

I don't have any specific ideal client avatar. Regarding language learning everyone is different. I love getting to know my students, their previous experiences, stumbling blocks, fears, and motivation. I like to bring out the best in everyone, focusing on their purpose.

Helping my clients is a passion of mine.I've done so as a dentist for the last 20 years and in my own journey of discovery, and having found the courage to pivot in my career choice, my desire is to help clients discover what goals they truly value in life, and what really matters to them in the challenges they face. I use my intuition and adopt a direct,yet open and flexible style in my coaching practice;with the aim of supporting my clients to realize the potential that they wish for themselves. So my medical background,combined with my psychological studies and coaching certifications is an unique combination that align my passion with my skills and most important is useful for the client to have the right support in their transformation

I believe that is the key...alignment. Living with intention is understanding what is at our core that drives the service we provide as coaches. My niche reflects what I understand about myself. With that said, to remove ourselves and our experiences from the partnership is vital to maintain a position of true curiosity -- that is the muscle we must flex to strengthen our skills and grow in the coaching role.

I am an example of a multi-skilled person, so to be a coach somehow you need to be multi skilled naturally, having the ability to adapt or apply the different skills and knowledge you have from practicing those skills, into coaching people on how they can improve, using a certain framework that translates into positive outcomes for the clients. Only after getting some coaching certifications related to your skills/field, then you would understand in what i mean by ‘framework’, or structured approach.

The last thing I will add to this article is that there is no "right way" to do anything. There are a million ways to find success but it is much harder to do when you are not walking in your own success and skillsets. You can hurt more people more than you help when you are not offering what you have to give but trying to do it like one of your favorite #gurus.

I asked myself how I could help people I would happily work with. Who do I want to speak to? Which struggles are the ones I feel close to myself? Which are the ones I dealt with in my own life or career? Describing the ideal client and thinking about their needs, struggles and beliefs can help find your niche. Answering the ideal client's possible questions brought up topics I am passionate about. And there is always your gut feeling :) In my experience, you can trust it.
