First Day: Introduce the new hire to their team, provide an office tour, and set up their workspace. Orientation: Conduct a company-wide orientation to share the company's mission, vision, and values. Mentorship: Assign a mentor/buddy to guide the new hire and answer questions. I totally agree, especially with the last statement. If you're just going to have everyone file into a room so that you can read each slide of your presentation, just send it in email with a read receipt and a quiz. If there are some courses in your onboarding giving your new employees the opportunity to take a pretest can determine if they even need the course. Remember, time is valuable and your onboarding should not take forever. The more interaction between your new hires the better. It provides them the opportunity to be themselves, loosen up and get to know each other.

When onboarding new recruiters, I deliver 2 to 3 weeks of formal training to provide them with the knowledge that they need to get going in the role. Once this is over, We will set them up with a buddy and book shadowing sessions with other recruiters. We will also assign them a recruitment coach who will sit with them once a week and go through everything. We will do call listening, KPIs, compliance, admin, emails, day plans etc. We are give feedback around all of these areas and discuss ways that they could do things and overcome any of their barriers/ challenges.

During our initial new hire training we have "checkpoints" throughout to reassess the areas of focus for upcoming trainings. This allows for a more customized training. In addition to our multi-learning style process, we are able to boost engagement and retention of what is learned in the training process.

Be transparent, don't just ask for individuals to fill out forms in regards to possible ways to improve the process, provide feedback possibly give credit to a particular person for their brilliant idea which led to a change in the onboarding process. This not only gives recognition to the individual but allows your employees to see their opinions and ideas are valued and utilized when given the opportunity respectfully.
