I find the use of the Soft Foam Ear Plugs really seals the deal, not a big fan of the plastic and other designs because i don't think they can seal out the decibels.

Concordo que são uma inovação. Principalmente para quem precisa de usar rádio para se comunicar nas áreas operacionais. Precisa se ter o cuidado de não inibir sons importantes como os de sinalização de movimentação com pontes rolantes e empilhadeiras.

Por isso que a utilização de qualquer equipamento de proteção antirruído, deve-se primeiro ter-se a ciência por meio de análise de ruído e assim classifica-lo de acordo com a intensidade prescrito em norma.

As classificações de redução de ruído são a base para todas as ações de proteção, redução e correção de ambientes e equipamento produtivos ruídosos. No Brasil apesar de existir uma regulação bem robusta sobre, infelizmente as falhas nas auditorias internas e externas são frequentes o que estimula o não cumprimento da legislação em vigor.

It is important to have a semi-annual audit of noise level in a work area. It is also important to do an audit if new equipment or modified equipment that affects the noise in the work area. The said audit will determine the noise level and thereby correct the PPE used based from NRR. These audits should be done by a qualified certified OSHA practioner. The audits should be kept for external regulatory OSHA inspector.

Tipo plug: Mais leve; Fácil higienização, mas demanda mais cuidados. Melhor para utilizar com óculos de grau. É mais fácil de perder ou de esquecer de levar para área fabril.

Proporcione al empleado instrucciones individuales o personales sobre cómo ajustar los protectores auditivos y haga la prueba de ajuste, es lo primero para el correcto mantenimiento de los dispositivos, luego según el tipo de protección tenemos un mantenimiento especifico, a saber; Tapones desechables: Cuando estos protectores se ensucien, dañen o pierdan su forma deben ser remplazados. Tapones reutilizables: Siempre deben lavarse antes o después de cada uso y secarse para evitar que ensucien el canal auditivo con agua tibia y jabón neutro. Orejeras: Limpiar regularmente con jabón neutro y agua tanto los auriculares como las almohadillas. Orejeras acopladas al casco: Requieren de un mantenimiento similar al de las orejeras normales.

In my experience, I agree with Martin that human behavior coupled with protection availability is the key to any form of protection program. Too often the PPE is not readily available for the employees, or if it is there is a culture of tolerance for not wearing the PPE.

Actually we have to select machines with law noise. Bu using 8 to 12 hrs. any thing in year its will lead pain and infections. If any emergency has been caused in plant then may not hear hooter and may its lead critical situation for users.

We should focus on elimination of noise more than 85 DB in the working environment so we can avoid using hearing protection devices. There are lots of ways we can eliminate high noise in the working environment 1) Enclose noisy machinery or create barriers around loud equipment to contain and reduce noise propagation. 2)Use materials that absorb sound, 3)Regular maintenance of machinery to ensure it operates quietly. 4) Equipment Upgrade to quieter models or incorporate noise-reducing technology in equipment. 5) Design the layout of the workspace to minimize noise exposure, such as placing noisy equipment in separate areas. 6)Regularly measure noise levels using sound level meters or dosimeters to ensure they are within safe limits.

The noise study is what reveals the type of device that is needed, but in my opinion, when using noisy machinery we should cover it with materials that reduce the sound.
