Conveniently, the names of the variables, functions, classes, and modules should be self-explanatory. The name should accurately describe the purpose. In the case of functions, it should always be a verb whereas others should be nouns. In my experience, while reviewing others' codes, it's always been beneficial if the variable names are meaningful as it helps to get a clearer context of what the code intends to do.

In my experience I have seen some very peculiar name structures, but I am a fan of meaningful names considering the guidelines even found in Uncle Bob's Clean Code. The best thing a Dev can find are meaningful names in methods and functions, without a shadow of a doubt the performance and readability of the code is enhanced with this good practice.
