What are the best practices for managing supplier risks?

Discussing RISK, I’d like to put forth the followings: (1) the RIRARC approach, namely; Risk Identification, Risk Assessment, Risk Control methodology. (2) digest and prepare mitigations for the potential VUCA situations, and PESTEL challenges. Managing any risk is difficult part but even more difficult is identifying it. to identify risk one needs to understand the dynamics associated with it, financial condition and market position of the supplier along with the geo political risk associated where supplier may be operating. Once identified ring fence it to manage the identified risk

Identification of the risk is the Most Important step. Where risks are identified, which ultimately acts as an foundation of any Risk Management program. Not every supplier presents the same risk. The risk being presented by a let's say Stationary Supplier can't be the same as being faced by a Supplier involved to take Permits with the Government on behalf of Organization. It needs to be identified that what risks a particular Supplier presents and then build the necessary mitigation Steps leading to the optimum use of the resources.
