The reality is that most 'diverse' suppliers with be the small(er) suppliers, because as companies grow they are often Investor / VC owned and therefore no longer (by definition) minority owned. Therefore, you need to work out how, as an organisation, you engage with these smaller suppliers in order to aid their growth, and encourage other to follow in their footsteps. I had the pleasure of working with Walmart (USA) on a project. A major challenge was not engaging diverse suppliers but working with small suppliers. I had a similar experience with Waitrose (UK). Diversity brings so much in terms of ideation, innovation and social impact we want to embrace the positive. That means nurturing smaller businesses to enable success.
