What are the best ways to learn ANN for Machine Learning without a degree?

Focus on understanding the basics. Most advanced concepts can be heavily simplified as a combination of the basic principles. Without those, your growth will quickly plateau.

ANN is a concept of deep learning. Before you jump into the ANN study, it is recommended that you have some basic knowledge of machine learning. Go to literature for learning the basics of ML is Andrew Ng's course on coursera. After learning about that you can start diving into deep learning. One should start with the basics of deep learning. Why did we need DL in the first place? How it works etc. There are plenty of youtube videos out there to explore these topics or you can just ask chatGPT about that. 😉

You can browse through tons of video from the youtube for understanding ANN. But a better approach is to enroll in a course,say by udemy or edx or coursera. These are some of the platforms that provides the knowledge. Courses are paid as well as free.some of them also provide certificate of completion. There are also books and e-books available for the same. Most important thing is that you do hands-on. You don't have to be a rocket scientist🚀 to learn AI, you just have to be your curious and determined self.🤓

I made my foray into Machine Learning and subsequently ANNs by reading books on it rather than courses. One particular book I want to mention is "Hands-On Machine Learning with Scikit-Learn, Keras, and Tensorflow" by Aurélien Geron. It neatly explains the history behind ANNs and their inner working, followed by great code examples to implement ANNs in practice using TensorFlow. Hands-on is the most important part of learning AI. - Pick a project, - Understand the agenda throughly, - Understand the data, - Start experimenting with the AI models. - Calculate the accuracy and verify the results. - See the techniques using which you can improve accuracy. - Keep the experimenting until you reach your desired accuracy. - Go through all the data if needed. There are platforms like kaggle, DrivenData, CROWDANALYTIX etc. Start with lower difficult level then climb up the ranks.

Communities and forums are not a good choice to learn ANN. But it’s a best place to get the latest trends, experiences and techniques related to the ANN. I would recommend books like Andrew Ng Deep Learning and online courses for gaining knowledge without a degree.

You don't need a degree to learn AI but you do need patience of high degree. AI is not a job of one day or one week, it takes months even years to achive the desired accuracy in some cases. Hope it helps!
