What are the dangers of not being aware of your cognitive biases?

La falta de conciencia sobre los sesgos cognitivos puede incidir adversamente en nuestra habilidad para tomar decisiones informadas, nutrir relaciones saludables, promover el aprendizaje y el crecimiento personal, y contribuir de manera justa y eficiente tanto en tu entorno personal como profesional. Es esencial reconocer y abordar estos sesgos para fomentar mejoras tanto a nivel individual como grupal.

Es importante tener presente desde la conciencia que poseemos sesgos, realizar una autoevaluación de en que momentos y lugar de la semana anterior tomamos una decisión, ya sea labora o personal sesgados. A partir de reconocerlos y encontrarlos en la cotidianeidad podemos atenuarlos para que nuestra toma de decisión sea mas imparcial y concreta que sesgada.

Es muy vulnerable la planificación a los sesgos, mas que nada en contexto turbulentos o mas hostiles donde el sesgo da por sentado que si otro no pudo planificar yo tampoco podre. El mejor amigo de cualquier persona y enemigo del sesgo es el la apertura. Es decir, el reconocimiento de otras realidades, la perseverancia u la confianza en nosotros mismos y un objetivo realmente importante para la persona, hace que cualquier planificación tenga éxito.

One of my mentors in investing loved to talk about behavioral economics. People are comfortable making decisions on limited data if they are "sure" the data are correct. They don't really care about conflicting data and they underweight its importance simply because they are unfamiliar. I call this the, "I don't swim in the ocean because there are sharks" analogy. Cognitive biases can make you over confident in your beliefs, leading to a failure to take alternative perspectives and information that could challenge your views. This biases causes people to attribute their successes to the internal factors (skills, knowledge) and attributing their failures to external factors (other people, situations). This can hinder their personal growth and learning from mistakes. Cognitive biases causes poor decision making because people will rely on first piece of information they receive. It can lead to flawed judgement.
