I feel one of the best ways to increase and encourage empathy and emotional intelligence among the team is to conduct both on floor and off-floor team bonding practices. One of the best practices is team outing and group assisted projects. This helps the team members to learn about each other at a more personal level allowing greater growth and thus increasing their EI

Actually I disagree with a point of view of having a constructive disagreement. Both don't go well with each other. Rather some of ways to handle this is to show them the mirror. Mirror with personal bias, for example letting them know how unresolved disagreements and conflicts with colleagues, peers, superiors can lead to increased stress and how that may affect both physical and mental health. It's important to educate the teams on how constructive discussions and not disagreements could lead to enhanced decision making which is based on objective discussions and data and not based on emotional biases.
