Why should employers hire you is a nuanced question as every job/level/industry/circumstance might require you to tailor the answer. Often an interviewer is also inexperienced at questions which can make one try to answer a question with what they think someone wants vs what they believe to be their true value to the position. I would invest time, before any interview, and make sure you as a human being, know yourself, what culture/environment fits you best, and ultimately makes you uniquely qualified to be the best fit. Instead of trying to answer their question - know when you declare where you are going - work/people show up. Don't try to "fit". Get comfortable with yourself and work will happen.

Highlighting both technical achievements and soft skills paints a comprehensive picture of your capabilities and increases your appeal to potential employers.

Before going for an interview it is insightful to read about the company culture, mission and goals as well the job description for easy reference when posed with this sort of question. I would suggest that in order to give confidence to the employer to want to recruit you. You could craft your response I'm such a convincing way that presents your skills relevant to the job description and by citing the mission and goals of the company through examples to achieve these at your level. This would impress the recruiters on your determination to research the company as well as your practical examples that show a link to the values and mission of the organization.

It is immensely important to understand the true meaning of this question by correlating it with job description, roles and responsibilities and then answer with the skills that matches the requirement. Highlight your value addition to previous organisations you have been associated with suitable examples. You must be working on your strengths and weakness. Your questions should be complimentary, not interrogational. When asking questions, don't try to show off how smart you are. Be kind. Give them a compliment and show that you've done your research. "I saw recently that you invested $100M in a new facility in the UK - that kind of global expansion is really appealing to me. You mentioned that's a project that you've been working on. Can you tell me what your experience has been, I'm so curious!"

I know sometimes people say, "oh I like to ask if there's any reason why you wouldn't hire me," to probe for doubt. But I feel like you need to be naturally confident. I think just stating again, on an emotional level, why you vibe with the role and the company is super compelling.
