There are environmental initiatives which suggest that natural lighting allows for a reduction in electric lighting. This does not take into account luminance contrast. If it's necessary for the lighting profile of a space to have impact during the daytime, then it is important for the electric lighting to sufficiently combat the natural lighting influence. That is, stronger intensity of electric lighting during daytime hours, and relaxed intensity during the evening. Counter intuitive but true.
