I don’t think the question is really the right question to be asking in the first place. In any industry, for any skill set, the moment you start thinking of your peers as “outshining” you, you’ve locked your perspective on competition. And specifically, it’s a type of competition grounded in a scarcity mindset where there’s only so much recognition and learning to go around. Competition isn’t necessarily a bad thing, there are ways to grow and collaborate mutually in these spaces where every one is learning and challenging together. We can’t, or at least shouldn’t, have everything filtered through the voices of a select few
