What do you do if your project's user experience needs improvement?

I would say that before you gather feedback you need to have clarity on the user goal and have a map of the current experience. If you have any form of analytics you can also understand current performance and data that can help you gather more relevant feedback. Without an objective framework of what you are trying to achieve and improve, you can easily get lost with everyone else's opinions. Sometimes the feedback will help you identify new opportunities or flows but again, without having an initial understanding of the user journey, detecting this will be hard.

Conduct User Research, understand your users' needs, preferences, and pain points through surveys, interviews, and observations. Analyse Data, look into analytics to identify where users may be struggling or abandoning the process. Perform usability tests to observe how users interact with your product and identify areas for improvement.

Another important nuance is to find a golden mean between research and implementation. Quite often, the product team falls into research and significantly slows down the delivery of value to users. Or conversely, they try to do something as quickly as possible (sorry, I'm not a fan of this trendy "fail fast" approach, it's often very painful for the eyes and causes indigestion). Such haste can often cost you the loss of your audience or reputation, which will be difficult to regain.

UX is an ongoing process, so continuously gather feedback and refine your design to provide the best user experience possible.

And one more thing that I think is important, which is not talked about: don't be afraid to take risks. You will always have insufficient data and will have to make decisions.
