What do you do if your team members are not motivated to achieve their goals?

There can be various reasons for lack of motivation.. The most important is the alignment of personal goals with the organization's goals .. Discord happens when there is a disconnect.. In my personal experience, it happens more often due to toxic leadership, which directs behaviour rather than collaborates with employees.. A good leader will stand with team members and tell them that it is in their own interest to further organisational goals .. They rise individually when they rise collectively and simultaneously, the organisation rises too .. And it must be a genuine, sincere sharing of ideas .. One can always detect a pep , overhyped talk which won't serve any purpose

Individual assessment and commitment to listening to individual members in a team is very important. It’s important to understand what a persons individual needs, requirements and concerns are. Listening helps to build trust, understand each others perspective and gain confidence to exchange thoughts and work as a team. This motivates the individual to deliver better.

Well, if a team member is not motivated to achieve his goal - it’s not their goal. It’s a signal that either the goal was not initially aligned with a team member’s values or the goal became redundant. And once initial dopamine boost from a new challenge exhausts itself - what will be left from motivation is mindset, discipline and core values. If the goal is hooked to either one - probability of success increases. Longterm sustainability of “motivating” someone from the outside is questionable per se - sooner or later it will drain the person. Having both sides involved in the process will help to navigate the “motivation crisis” successfully

Solution for you is introspection and correction. You are the reason for Team demotivating and deceleration. If you change ,ream members would be motivated to perform under your leadership. If you did not change,team will be destroyed and you would leave the organisation but you will continue to create same working models everywhere until u Introspect and change.
