What do you do if you're not familiar with the staffing services software used in an interview?

Personally I would cite my experience with a variety of different ATS/CRM platforms including the development of my own and suggest that tools can be/have been learned and can be easily learned again The tactics and strategies of developing relationships with clients and candidates remain the same. Tools are simply tools. Relationship building and follow through are the truly meaningful skills

try to find out what ATS/MSP/VMS that the client company uses and do some basic research.. Most of these platforms are very similar and relay that info and experience using say JobDiva instead of ICIMS or SuccessFactors...... Also play up anything you are a SME in that the company uses, whether its Agile TAaaS/RaaS. sourcing/recruiting for IT/Engineering etc.......

Every new job comes with some challenges, new software, different client base/roles, so its important to start and the bottom, learn their processes and toolsets, and be a sponge. Everywhere I go, they use a different ATS, and usually after a week, I am the SME in using that ATS.......

Highlight any transferable skills or experiences that demonstrate your ability to work with software and technology. For example, if you have experience with other staffing or HR software, mention how you successfully utilized those tools in previous roles.
