-In my experience it depends on the type of material and selection of grinding wheel abrasive type, to achieve surface finish good to go with small grain structure with higher speed low feed rate. This would be the common followed way. And also we should not ignore any points from 1 to 6 everything should be as per parameters, even coolant flow plays a vital role.

From my experience I have seen the influence of many factors on achieving the expected surface finish . Hence singling our which one is important or critical might not be an appropriate approach . For example , when we do grinding on delicate parts the selection of the right wheel , holding fixture effectiveness , coolant selection based on purpose takes more Center stage than others ., Sometimes it is important to look at how efficiently we do the operation and still achieve the expected quality . Then the parameters take more precedence . .Just my two cents .

We are mostly go for an appearance shining- should remember all that glitters is not gold. This is case of Abusive Machining. We must go for gentle machining. So as mentioned above all the six points needed to be taken into account. For surface grinding proper selection of wheel along with slower table speed, low depth of cut and lower length of table movements may result in better quality of surface as mentioned above.
