Unhealthy and healthy habits are things we are shown in childhood. For example, a child whose mother is a regular chain smoker may not take it seriously when told the dangers of smoking as they see their mother regularly smoking cigarettes and she is the healthiest person the child can name. It is a challenge to teach children in low-resource settings because they are not being shown the importance of preventative measures, daily nourishment, regular doctors visits, and other healthy habits because their guardians are unable to provide it financially.
