In the workplace as an employee this is even more important because each skill you learn represents new value you can bring to your firm, and that you can take somewhere else if need be. At the end of the day most everything in life can be taken away from you. You can lose your job, your income, your investments, but the skills and knowledge you have are things that will always be with you. Invest in yourself, it's the best investment you will ever make!

Do NOT be afraid to learn new skills - whether it be hard or soft skills. You need both to be a successful entrepreneur. Take on new tasks - especially those for which you probably are NOT as qualified as others. What it WILL do is allow you to have a safety net and supervision while you dip your toe in the water and identify where you have deficiency vs lack of knowledge entirely. Learn and educate yourself in areas in which you are the weakest, when you have the greatest safety net until you can launch yourself as an entrepreneur knowing it will be okay without the safety net.

In a previous role, I embraced the entrepreneurial mindset by proposing and implementing innovative ways to enhance our customer support processes. Recognizing a need for more personalized and efficient customer interactions, I suggested the implementation of a chatbot system to automate routine queries and free up human resources for more complex issues. Although the concept was relatively new to our team, I collaborated with the IT department to experiment with different chatbot platforms and integrate the most suitable one into our workflow. While the initial implementation had its share of challenges, including a learning curve for both customers and staff, I remained undeterred.

Ninguna experiencia es en vano.

Listen. Entrepreneurship is more about listening and observing. Doing comes into play but only after you have listened and learned enough to find an edge. Many entrepreneurs embrace the "hustle" approach and try to workhorse their business to success. Yes, you have to work hard but hard work misplaced can yield a lot of frustration. Carefully evaluate where the best place is to work hard and great results will follow.

Live in the shoes of your customers and future customers. Walk everywhere with them. Learn their lives at work and at home. Find ways to meaningfully help and be relevant to them. Recruit team members to wear the shoes, too. It's hard, especially in smaller business. Entrepreneurs have to be bold enough to commit to this focus every single day. The distractions can make it almost impossible but you absolutely must carve out the time. Without this, you are wandering aimlessly.
