In my experience building hotels around the world, I was able to blend myself into every environment I was thrown into. The best way to do that is to stay humble and curious about the world around around me. Never boast and be haughty, and never pretend that you know everything about them. A good sense of humor and an inquisitive mind breaks the ice instantly. Of course, showing respect by listening and try to emulate their expressions of greetings and mannerisms is essential. Ultimately, the need to be accepted and respected is paramount. In the final analysis, it is a gradual progress for many cultures.
