On the ‘front end’, to ensure the training is relevant, engaging, & useful info, send out a BRIEF survey to individuals who’ll be attending to gauge the array of familiarity w/ the info you’ll be presenting. You don’t want to start too far ahead or behind of where the group is, this will waste their time & lose their attention. Once you gauge the current level of expertise for the group as a whole, design a training that utilizes audio, visual & tactile materials, simultaneously when possible, to reinforce concepts, so that you’re presenting each learning style, & don’t forget to request feedback at the end on what did & didn’t work for attendees. Even if small, we can always make the next training even better based on relevant insights.
