You want to learn how to fly, but how do you choose the right aviation school?

With increasing demands for pilots, it is harder than ever to choose the right flight school, especially given the strong competition among airline academies. Bearing this in mind, seize opportunities to attend open days at renowned academies. Interact not only with staff members but, most importantly, with trainees to gather their perspectives on the training offered, the quality of instruction provided, and the opportunities presented, both during training and in preparation for airline interviews. Prioritise quality over quantity when selecting a flight school, as the instruction you receive and the insights you gain from those within the industry will distinguish you when seeking employment.

the instructor must adapt yourself to students, not opposite, if you disagree, you shouldn’t be instructor. if you’re instructor only for money, give up, the reward is not there, every student is like a small tree and require patience to harvest. if you don’t leave home to help others, don’t leave your confort. simple like that…

The money comes with effort and study, if you want to be a pilot, you will find the path. If you have money that's easy, if not, there are hundreds of scholarships around the globe to get the right aviation career for you, if you want to be a pilot, search and fight for that, dream on it, be ready for the opportunity but only with a hard work, discipline and self confidence you will find the right budget for you.

I think in South America, the main choice is about money. The investment is very high and many people are unable to complete the course due to lack of money. Purchasing power in South America is very low. So for us, the main choice is budget.

Flight schools can vary wildly in terms of cost. Some have arrangements with airlines to supply cadets and others don’t. But there’s often a premium to be paid for that. And right now the European jobs market seems quite buoyant.

Other considerations would include the type of flight training, particularly if it is add on training or ratings. There are schools that focus on, even down to the PPL level, fast faced courses focused on specific items. There are schools that specialize in IFR add on's in 7-10 days, twin engine rating add ons in a fixed number of days, sea plane ratings, mountain flying, bush planes, etc. Looking at what the objective is and the time and budget for specialized courses like this is also an important deciding factor.

In a competitive aviation world, you need to choose one academy that give to you more opportunities to join an airlines, the most important thing to know about that is the licences that the academy offer to you, FAA, EASA, with this two; you can work in most airlines around the world. And sure this academies improve the skills you have and the one's that you need.

Besides the four factors mentioned here, I would also consider a flight school with the best safety record. If I am going to send my son to this school, it better have a good and reputable safety record.
