When a team is divided on design choices, the key is to focus on the shared goal: delivering value to the audience. Start by aligning everyone on the project’s objectives and how the design serves those goals. Encourage open discussions, valuing all perspectives, and back decisions with data like audience insights or testing results. Consider combining ideas or testing multiple approaches if feasible. The goal isn’t compromise for its own sake, but creating a solution everyone feels invested in and confident about.

We faced this challenge for a while—until one activity transformed how we approached it. Whenever conflicts arise, I ask each team member to independently list: 1️⃣ Their vision for the project. 2️⃣ The reasoning behind it. Then, in a moderated team session, we identify commonalities between everyone’s perspectives. If we reach a resolution, we move forward and bring it to life. If not, we hold another round of the workshop until alignment is achieved. This process has helped us resolve conflicts faster and foster a culture of collaboration.
