(edited)It’s not the first time an influencer has dropped the ball. There is still time to redeem your campaign. Get your tactical team together - quick. Suggest a good location for an impromptu agile planning session. Why not a local pub or brasserie? Yes, that’s it. Get the team relaxed with continental lagers and perhaps a sly G&T. You need to loosen their innovation spigots. As you discuss your options move into Australian wine. A couple of bottles from Clare Valley. Then onto the top shelf as brainstorming hits full speed. Go with speyside malts and then upgrade to islay. Finish off with a decent nightcap as your ideas and most of the evening slip into incomprehension. Is Adam ok? He looks a bit peaky. Adam? Not there mate. Jesus.

Your influencer dropped the ball. Now what? First—breathe. This isn’t the end; it’s just a plot twist. Instead of pointing fingers, pivot. Start with a conversation. What went wrong? Was it a misunderstanding, a capability gap, or just bad timing? Clarity is your best tool here. Next, turn the setback into an opportunity. Can you repurpose the content? Engage your audience with honesty? Or bring in a backup influencer to fill the gap? Lastly—document, refine, and move forward. Every campaign teaches a lesson. Use this to build better partnerships next time. Marketing is never perfect. But your ability to adapt? That’s what makes a brand unforgettable.

Sometimes, even the best-planned campaigns face setbacks—like when an influencer doesn’t deliver as expected. Instead of stressing over what went wrong, the focus should be on finding quick solutions. First, clear communication can make a difference. A simple conversation might help fix the issue with small adjustments. If that doesn’t work, it’s time to switch strategies. Using existing content in a fresh way, running targeted ads, or partnering with micro-influencers can help keep the campaign moving. Always have a backup plan. Working with influencers comes with challenges, but being flexible is what keeps a campaign successful.

When an influencer misses the mark on deliverables, it's important to stay calm and solution-focused. First, reach out to them for a clear understanding of the issue. Adjust expectations and work together to re-align on the goals. Consider amplifying the content with additional value, such as paid ads or re-shares from other channels. Staying flexible and open to collaboration can still turn the campaign around and drive positive results.

Review the contract and agreed deliverables. Communicate directly with the influencer to address the gaps. Offer clear feedback and request corrections or additional content. If results fall short, pivot to another influencer or marketing channel to meet campaign goals. Always track performance and document lessons for future campaigns.
