Decide what your organization will say “no” to after determining priorities. Anything that isn’t in the priorities should not be promised to partners and should get a hard (but nice!) “no”. This is difficult when offers of support or partnership come from established partners or with substantial funding. But a few l commitment to any priority means saying “no” to anything that does not align.

The commitment needs to be reflected in measurable facts : ▫️Optimize design focusing on resource conservation (cement, steel) ▫️Select & specify materials that are environmentally friendly (low VOC, competitive EPD), renewable, or recycled. ▫️Conduct life cycle assessments on all products we use to evaluate the environmental impact of projects from conception to disposal. ▫️Set clear sustainability goals and metrics for projects, and regularly monitor and report progress to ensure accountability ▫️Embrace new technologies and innovative practices that enhance sustainability, such as second life fibres, low clinker cements and hardeners, zero VOC water based resins, latest electric powered equipment

To ensure that projects reflect a commitment to sustainability, we should align them with organizational priorities such as water stewardship, waste reduction, and carbon neutrality, while embedding principles like the 3R strategy and SDG goals. Collaborating with internal teams and external partners, we can focus on community-centric initiatives, such as women’s employment programs and income generation opportunities. Transparent communication and active employee involvement further reinforce accountability and amplify our contributions to a sustainable future.
