I remember when I was beginner my SD card got full and I didn’t have any other. Videographer who was working with my borrowed me the SD card and showed me how important it is to have spare one. Make a list in advance what you are bringing to shooting. I have my list in notes and designation ones I put in my bag. This saves your time and will avoid any unpleasant situation.

I think the primary thing you need to do is stay calm! Communicating with the client may or may not be a good idea. Recently, I was at a session with a new camera. I tested my settings carefully, but had an issue. During the session I needed to use High Speed Sync (HSS) to get a proper exposure. My trigger was set to allow HSS, but I couldn't raise my shutter speed above 1/250 sec. This is a simple change, but could not recall where it was in the camera menu system. I needed time to find the setting. This was not the time to communicate with the customer, as they may have lost confidence. Instead I said I needed to change lenses, and used the time to find and change the setting. So, stay cool and consider your options carefully!

Know your equipment! Looks like a simple approach but many glitches are related to simple failures (cable, synchro, settings, etc…) AND always a minimum backup solution!

One thing I’ve always found helpful is checking all gear before, and after production. - everything is clean - you know you’ll bring everything - you know everything is working Always remain calm, identify the technicality, if you can’t figure out a fix within 7 seconds, use back-up gear.

Maintain a professional and proper attitude throughout. The client will always feel how you feel in the moment. Makes for a poor impression if you ensure to your client you are not emotionally stable. Confidence is key ✅
