Innovation and Market demand both are important activities for any organisation. A customer centric approach is key to any project. If innovation is linked to customer needs and wants then it becomes easier to make it realistic. Keep talking to Team and Management and create a balance between both. Market demand will bring immediate business but innovation will ensure longer sustainable business and customer satisfaction and brand value. Try to incorporate customer demand in innovation and key to address Voice of Customer and Field issues simultaneously. One has to balance and create innovation keeping VOC and Market demand central to it. If a company does this then they are surely to win in the market and gain demand and Market share.

Actually I disagree with that, innovation is a different subject & market demand is a different ball game, you must establish both team separately & craete link by sales team to drive exact need in market.
