To help my team succeed, I would initiate open communication channels to understand the root causes of the struggles, provide support and resources where needed, set clear and achievable goals, foster collaboration and teamwork, and offer regular feedback and encouragement to keep morale high and motivation strong.

I would spent time together with my colleague. First start with a good dinner, as I believe a social element is important to realize an open and trusted culture. Followed by a deep dive to get an understanding from both sides what the possible root causes are including agreement on the countermeasure to over come this. I will also organize follow up meeting to create feedback loops.

Set SMART objectives. Encourage Group listening session to identify strength and turn them into opportunities. Consider reshuffling projects tasks between the Team Be involved as a mentor

Lead by example! Most teams don’t hit target because they are led by people who never sold or closed a deal. They went to school to become a “manager”. So first thing to do, look at the leader.

Pinpoint the problem your team faces. Be specific - How often it happens - Its impact on goals - What causes it A clear definition helps find the best solution.

Besides defining the problem clearly, so every team member and the managers understand its essence and scope, it helps to run a root cause analysis. It can be a rudimentary test using the "5 whys" approach, which should not only highlight the problem, but drive to it resolution.

In my experience, figuring out the root of the issue and defining the problem clearly has been pivotal. I like to understand if the problem is technical or adaptive. Technical problems can be addressed by following the workflow and discovering where the bottle neck is. For example, we are not achieving our goals because supply of X has been reduced which has resulted in a lower production number of Y. Adaptive problems or wicked problems are usually more difficult to assess and fix. They are often related to culture and values. One framework that is helpful in approaching adaptive problems is Bolman and Deal’s four frames of leadership. Are these problems structural,human resource related, political, or symbolic?

I believe that clear cut and precise problem identification and understanding helps all the team members to be in one page, ensuring any misconceptions are avoided for better resolutions.

Defining the problem to the team requires correct diagnosis of the problem by the team leader first. With the problem being correctly diagnosed, the leader can decide the amount of resource and the kind of skill required to eliminate the problem. This helps the leader pick the right people and the right amount of resources to deal with the problem. The identification and understanding of the problem is a basic building block that allows the leader and his team to chalk down objectives clearly with defined KPIs.

Something which definitely works always is discipline over motivation. Motivation, most often than not is short lived, while discipline goes a long way. To inculcate this in the team, it’s easiest to lead by example as a starting point. Following on if one can show the impact of discipline for short term and long term goal achieving and simplicity of getting things done through discipline and consistency, that should do the job.

I suppose if nothing else works you need to look at alternatives. A leader will need to assess if there are such alternatives after communicating with the team. A leader should also participate and be involved in these situations. Encouragement and empowerment could work, fear tactics and threats of discipline do not. Perhaps tools not other wise used could assist in making these goals more achievable.

One of the great things that comes with working alongside a team is the diversity in thought. Incorporating what some may consider to be disruptive thoughts into developing an approach can potentially break down the barriers in your own viewpoint of the problem.

Doing a SWOT analysis, generally helps in the overall issue to understand where we may use our strengths and weakness. Through this we may get alternative options

Oftentimes we forget to inspect what we expect. We'll implement different strategies and processes to assist our team to succeed, but we forget to inspect the strategies and how they are assisting the team or lack there of. Remember to always inspect the strategies and processes to ensure that they are yielding the desired results.

Address Issues: Identify and address any obstacles or conflicts hindering progress promptly. Lead by Example: Demonstrate commitment, resilience, and a positive attitude to inspire and motivate your team.

In my experience we talk about co-production but don’t necessarily do that as we go with predetermined bias of problems, impact and solutions. It is really important to understand where the team think they are in their performance, what do they think as a collective has to change and how can that be achieved along with gap analysis of resources need to keep it sustainable and not just a pilot. The message translation is key.

Once your solution is implemented, monitor the success against KPIs. Conduct Lessons learned with the team to identify area of improvement and success factors. Celebrate every success to motivate the team. Send out a feedback survey to Stakeholders and end users to learn their experience and perspective. Always have transparent communication with the team to maintain trust and motivation for continuous improvement.

To assist your team in achieving their goals, consider implementing and closely monitoring the proposed solution. This proactive approach can significantly contribute to their success.

One important thing is, always make sure you deliver the "Why". It is essential to know the "Why" a goals need to be achieved. This "Why" should be taking into account of the team member point of view such (1) make their works easier, (2) less time consuming of their works, etc. When we know the "Why", it feels easier to engage team to achieve the goal.

Completing smaller units of work will helps in maintaining a sense of progress and accomplishment which will In turn help the teams morale. This approach also allows more frequent opportunities to reassess and adjust the overall strategy as per the need , thereby allowing team to complete the committed deliverables in a more easier way.

Revisit the goals, re-assess the efforts and review if resources identified at the onset match the required outcome vs expectations. Re-prioritize by determining activities impacting critical business requirements for existing resources to work on and lessen stressful work environment, then adapt accordingly by looking at budget reallocation to either buy, borrow or build resources to enhance support.
