A few elements are important to consider; fostering collaboration through example and creating spaces that give employees the opportunity to learn why collaboration is important, what it means to collaborate, to what degree is collaboration needed, to track results from the collaborative efforts, and the effect it has on the company/organization and people the company/organization serve. Also, cross training is essential to gain a deeper knowledge and perspective of your team’s work and through that experience you will be able to empathize with your team mates and their work load, as well as gain a better understanding of the type of work they do.
