This can go for long but! for max number of times, Animators and sound designers are always inspired by a movie act or a scene they recently came across, because that is where an animation or sound strikes you. Ask both of them, what inspired you to make or go this way and keep both of the references/inspirations together and start looking out for common points in them. there'll be a surely some instance or scene where both would agree to have a common ground to ideate or work on. Or at last, simple and practical, you'll have to lower one down which ranks low in voting

I have found that creative clashes are more of an issue between production and client. (But that is not the question) There always has to be a director, someone who has a clear vision, but is flexible to input. Having early discussions and deciding on the direction of any production between all players is essential to being on the same page. Being able to communicate your vision clearly and having creative partners who give intelligent input forms the best teams. But the director must be the catalyst for the ideas and must be able to decide on the final direction of the piece. Without that it is just chaos.

When creative visions clash between animators and sound designers, it’s essential to create a space where both can share their perspectives openly. Firstly, I will start by focusing on the shared goal: how visuals and sound together serve the story or project. Thereafter, encourage animators to explain the pacing and emotional tone of their work and let sound designers show how their ideas enhance or elevate the visuals. This helps both sides see how their roles complement each other. Definitely gives no room for a clash.
