Do some research. It's hard to stand out when you don't know what everyone else is doing. Skip the corporate language - you're likely dealing with a small business - let their humanness shine through! People enjoy that. Use real photos if possible - stock photos are generally a yawn.

One of the problems I have faced is clients asking me to recreate an already existing website for them. The fact is that every website you find on the internet was created to solve unique problems and does not suit every business even if it's in the same niche. Some clients will say "Can you give me a great website?" Well, the answer is determined if I actually understand what you mean by "great website". So, it is necessary that I take into account the client's interest, value proposition, brand identity, and target audience before creating a website. The goal is to convert and not to just look great.

So, be experimental, try out shades and colours which are not used in that Industry (don't go too far, but away from the traditional trend) You will find a point where your colours are talking and still relatable to the audience.
