Next step is to either admit that this is going to have to remain a difference of opinion or to seek out what some call the Third Story, an aspect of their disagreement upon which they both actually agree, a goal they both are trying to achieve from their positions even if they do not agree on the actual details of how to get there. If you can identify and articulate that, it goes a long way to lowering the temperature.

No princípio, como professor, procuro sempre abordar a situação sem tomar partido para ganhar a confiança de ambas as partes. You must be very objective when dealing with students. Those people are so intelligent. They can easily sense when you are biased. And ofcourse you know once they see you as sentimental or one - sided view, they begin to lose trust in you slowly. You should try hard to be fair and show equality in your judgement. If you're fair and objective, they not always agree with your decisions but they'll know and be assured that did the right thing. There won't be agitations. Even when someone tries to raise dust, his or her peers will assure him that the teacher has done the right thing.

It is natural for two individuals, especially young children first finding their footholds amongst peers engaging in conflict. It is crucial for them to realise that some conflicts are resolvable, some can't. The onus of resolving the conflicts must always remain on the parties involved in the conflict. The purpose of authorities must be to act as third parties who enforce non negotiable boundaries. This ensures a relatively safe environment for the peers to figure out their differences amongst themselves while not escalating the situation.
