To keep my existing relationships strong while expanding my network, I make it a point to reach out regularly, share updates, and lend support whenever I can. I value face-to-face interactions, whether over coffee or calls. Staying genuine and being present helps build trust and keeps connections vibrant and meaningful.

I consider some of my industry colleagues true friends. I enjoy maintaining consistent and personalized communication. Don’t we want to know people more than just the transaction? Rather than reaching out only when necessary, I stay in touch with them via updates such as industry insights ( when you see an article or post that reminds you of someone - let them know), or by simply inquiring how they are recovering from a recent medical procedure that they mentioned to you a few months ago. A pet peeve of mine is people only reaching out to me when they want a contact, selling me something, or looking for a new job.

I give much higher % contribution from Art than science for Networking. In my long 45 year IT career, I have seen people who are best in networking with very little process or science. Also seen many people try to use tools but do not succeed
