I my experience in #solar where most of the work is electrical and data related the team needs on top of the training and skills, the right support system and proper leadership. A combination of Safety and curiosity culture is key to success. The first will make sure everyone and everything operates safely while the second is the drive behind proper troubleshooting, root cause analysis etc. Having the correct capacity means also there is room for rotations so that "intervention" fatigue doesn't erode the quality of the work. Often exceptional team members deliver poor work when they are too stretched, stressed and fatigued. Let the team recharge.

Staff has to be certified and ready to meet challenges like weather, drunk drivers, contractors who leave dumpers up as they drive through powerlines, and the changing landscape of the power system. There is nothing we can do to prevent adversity. Things we have no control over are simulated and acted upon. Operators face these challenges in simulation and are trained in the correct response. We keep refreshing information on the equipment they use to help them perform their jobs. Training is paramount. When the time comes to act, they do act, and do it well to mitigate your outage to make it just an inconvenience for you and not devastating.
