The most important thing is to have a clear, overarching mission. This mission should be so compelling that team members are motivated to put the mission above their own egos. Of course, every person is different and should be able to approach tasks in a way that suits them. Regularly remind them that they can come to you with any issues and that you’re happy to provide support for any questions they have.

I believe that effective leadership involves making clear decisions and setting expectations, which is where assertiveness comes into play. At the same time, empathy allows me to connect with my team, understand their perspectives, and provide support where needed. To maintain this balance, I focus on active listening—ensuring that team members feel heard and valued. I ensure my leadership is both directive and considerate, allowing me to guide effectively while fostering trust and collaboration.
