When VC's get commitments from LP's to deploy to promising startups there is no way out for them but to call and deploy that capital. So it's not a matter if the financial world is upside down or inside out, the VC's will deploy. What changes is how GP's will prioritize startups. In the last 3 years we have seen VC's push their portfolio co's to be more frugal, and focus on unit economics positivity even if they can't get to ebitda positivity. So the shift of focus from growth to resource efficiency has increased. Also VC's are now looking to bet more money(on average) at lower (reasonable) valuations to almost break even startups so the founders need to adjust their planning & not increase headcount by default but better managing resources

Have more conversations with founders and key team players, understand their vision more deeply and close their insecurity beforehand

In my view, three approaches are possible, either separately or in combination: - The Strategic Portfolio Manager Perspective: From this viewpoint, the focus is on optimizing the portfolio to weather market turbulence thanks to Diversification Strategy + Stress Testing + Opportunistic Investing; -The Transparent Communicator Perspective: This approach emphasizes open and frequent communication with investors ; - The Network Leverager Perspective: This perspective focuses on utilizing and expanding the VC firm's network to navigate volatility.

Startups are hard! and on top of that no investor likes surprises, so open and honest communication is key. They have invested because they (hopefully) believe in what you are building. By being transparent and open you will build a level of trust that during the times of market volatility that will go a long way to reassure them
