In consideration of Indian agriculture Few thoughts 1. In order to progress further / evolve Indian ag better it would be worthwhile to blend traditional farming with advance agricultural practices 2. Implement Precision agriculture practices such as soil moisture sensors, Drones for spraying,Satellite imagery for forecasting and weather alerts,Crop monitoring for pest diseases infestation level through satellites Using modern technology for planting.harvesting , 2. Farm irrigation systems to be modernise, use Iot, sensor based devices, Crop based water management technologies 3. Crop growth progress monitoring through different technologies Farm produce market rates tracking 4. Engage farmer groups & impart them technology training

From our end here in Zambia and across the wider east Southern Africa region it really starts with the tillage practices and that means shifting away from ploughing and or overall hoe tillage to Minimal or Reduced Tillage to establish a crop. When taught and applied properly it confers a number of benefits. It enables a farmer to be able to plant with the first heavy planting rains (irrespective of when those rains now arrive), optimise their input and seeding regimens as well as supporting a range of crops and agro forestry configurations. Our work and experience has taught us that Min Tillage practices reduce erosion while capturing and retaining more rainfall and moisture.

1.Adopt Technology as a Support System Use Agritech tools like IoT sensors, drones, and AI to complement traditional practices rather than replace them. Combine AI-based weather forecasting with traditional planting calendars maintaining traditional soil health methods.Education and Training Train farmers to use modern tools and technology while emphasizing the value of their traditional knowledge.Offering workshops on how digital tools like mobile appscan improve transparency and efficiency in traditional supply chains.Preserving traditional practices in Document and retain indigenous farming Preserving the traditional Seeds Involve local farmers and communities to ensure their expertise is not lost and is integrated with new technologies.

To balance tradition and technology in agribusiness, it is essential to adopt an approach that respects ancestral know-how while integrating innovations that optimize processes. For example, traditional farming practices can be enhanced with technologies like precision agriculture, IoT sensors, or data analytics tools, which help maximize yields while respecting natural cycles. Educating producers and consumers also plays a key role in demonstrating that tradition and technology are not opposed but complementary, fostering sustainable, productive, and resilient agriculture.

I believe point 3 is the most crucial, only by motivating leader-farmers to use technology will it be adapted through the agriculture industry. My experience is that tech-savy professionals often too much focus on data-collection without being able to explain how these data can contribute to a higher production or revenue. Only through interaction with farmers can an understanding grow, which technology is usefull.
