Come on. This nonsense again? There is no inherent conflict between voice and industry standards for any industry I can think of. There are individuals and companies who think they have to adhere to some imagined formalistic style standard. And there are style guides. But writng that speaks intentionally, with a point of view, to a vested reader, about something she cares about, providing industry relevant/actionable information will be received by the industry. Dumb, uptight, standardized, seventh-grade grammar is not ANYONE’s actual industry standard. Just stop it.
